Cost-cutting tips, especially useful if you're planning to hold the party at your house:

  • Invite fewer guests.
  • Make food from scratch.
  • Create your own decorations.
  • Use everyday dishes/silverware.
  • Use plain paper plates/cups.
  • Use game prizes or crafts as party favors.
  • Use a computer to create prize certificates/invitations/thank-you notes/decorations.
  • Hand make and deliver invitations/thank-yous.

Having a party in your house may be time-consuming, but once you see your little one having a blast, it'll be all worth it. Happy partying!

The first step in any successful venture is allotting a realistic budget so you can plan accordingly. Before canvassing for venues, decorations, and souvenirs, know first how much you are willing or can afford to spend for the party. A budget makes decision-making much easier since it limits your options – you only choose between packages that fall under your budget and can forget about those that exceed it.
